The Kinks - Strangers

this is one of my favorite songs ever made

i first heard it when I was like eleven in a theater during a preview for the darjeeling limited and its one of the kinks most delicate songs and i think the most genuine in a sorta humble way

from my point of view it’s about like about how we’re all going to die and the world is messed up but life can be beautiful and you’ve just gotta get out there and live it, especially when life starts to feel pointless

and its also a song about love and friendship like if you live life and go through stuff with someone, they become your family. or even like the friends that you DO have are just on this crazy painful/wonderful journey with you and you’re not alone even if you only have one friend, and even if you don’t have friends you’re not alone because you’re surrounded by all of humanity?? im getting deep someone stop me

why does new anime look so freaking stupid and shiny and cheap most of the time these days

maybe im wrong thats just how i feel when i see a lot of the new stuff???

A lot of the new anime released in Japan relies a little too heavily on really shoddy CGI and motion blur effects in order to compensate for lazy animation. I do believe, after another year or two, most of the studios overseas will reevaluate the way they produce anime and gradually begin to shift back towards traditional hand-drawn animation.

Of course, that’s not to say that CGI and motion blur in anime CAN’T be effective. I’d highly recommend you watch The Animatrix OVAs as evidence to that fact. The animators totally managed to pull off adding a few great CGI effects to the show and made it look seamless.
